Dr. Charles W. Episalla, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Episalla is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with over 30 years of experience treating conditions of the knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, elbow, hand and spine. His extensive training includes sports medicine, joint replacement, reconstructive surgery, hand surgery and adult and pediatric trauma.
Dr. Episalla is highly regarded in his field as the Director of Orthopedic Surgery at Bon Secours Community Hospital from 2019 to 2023, and previous head of the Orthopedic Surgery Department at Garnet Health Medical Center-Catskill for over 15 years of his 31 year tenure. He was appointed President of New York Medical College Alumni Association, has been the Team Physician for Sullivan County Community College for over 25 years and was inducted into the college’s Hall of Fame. He serves as Police Surgeon for the New York State Troopers and the Monticello Police PBA. He also received Congressional commendations from the NYS Senate for 27 years of dedication and service to the community. Dr. Episalla is the founder and Director of Catskill Orthopedics, PC, established in 1993.
Dr. Episalla received his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degrees from New York Medical College, completing an internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at Westchester Medical Center, Metropolitan Hospital, Lincoln Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering, St. Vincent’s Hospital and Our Lady of Mercy. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago with honors. He was named to “America’s Top Orthopedists” by The Leading Physicians of the World for consecutive years, since 2011.
Dr. Episalla serves patients in Hudson Valley New York, including the Catskills, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, Dutchess, Delaware, Greene, Rockland and Westchester Counties.

Fabio Collarelli, RPA-C is a board-certified, New York State licensed physician assistant with 20 years’ experience in Orthopedics. Under the direction of Dr. Charles W. Episalla, he is involved in many aspects of orthopedic care, including obtaining patients’ history and physicals, interpretation of x-rays, joint injections, diagnosis and treatment, patient education, and assisting in surgical cases. He has extensive orthopedic training in the specialties of sports medicine, hand, and joint replacement surgery.
PA Collarelli received his undergraduate degree from the University at Albany with a B.S. in Biology. During his undergraduate years, he devoted his time and volunteered in the Emergency Department at Albany Medical Center. He then earned his Physician Assistant Degree at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Staten Island, NY.
